Batting first in batting friendly conditions, Australia got off to a good start. The first wicket pair of Shane Watson and Tim Paine added 43 runs for the first wicket before Watson departed for 26(22). Ricky Ponting joined Paine at crease and they added 52 runs fro the second wicket. Paine departed for 24 and Ponting was joined by Cameron White. Ricky Ponting scored his 29th ODI century. White scored 63(78). Quick runs in the end helped Australia post 324/7 in their fifty overs.
