The rain gods are with Delhi Daredevils as they beat Kings XI Punjab in a rain interrupted match. Winning the toss, Virendar Sehwag, captain of the Delhi Daredevils team put the opposition to bat as rain has delayed the start of the match by about 90 minutes. The match was reduced to 14 overs a side, but the umpires had to reduce it further to 12 overs.
The match started off extremely well for Kings XI Punjab as they scored 50 runs in just 4.3 overs. Ran interrupted the match again later and Kings XI Punjab lost its momentum. They scored 104 runs in 12 overs. Chasing 105 to win, Delhi Daredevils raced away to 24 in just 1.5 overs when rain played the spoilsport again. Duckworth Lewis calculations came in place and they favored Delhi Daredevils who was given an easy target of 30 runs from 25 balls. Virendar Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir finished off the game and won the match for Delhi Daredevils.
