England won the first ODI against Bangladesh by 6 wickets. Winning the toss, Alastair Cook, the captain of England for the Bangladesh tour opted to field first. Bangladesh were all out for 228 runs, thanks to a century by opener Tamim Iqbal. Iqbal made 125(120) but received not much support at the other end as wickets fell at regular intervals. In reply, England chased down the total with 4 overs to spare. Tamim Iqbal received the player of the match award for his century.
