The Day 1 of the second test match has been a dramatic day. Batting first, South Africa lost the wicket of Graeme Smith for just 4 runs. Then Alviro Petersen and Hashim Amla registered a double century partnership of 209 runs. Alviro Petersen who is making his debut scored a century 100(164). Hashim Amla continued from where he left off in the first test and scored yet another century 114(166). After the fall of Amla and Petersen, South Africa went to tea at 228/2. However, India led by Harbhajan Singh made a remarkable comeback picking up 5 wickets in the last session. South Africa lost 5 wickets for 32 runs and they are 266/9 at stumps on Day 1. Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh picked up 3 wickets each.
