Pakistan Pakistan beat West Indies West Indies in the first Group A match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 by 5 wickets. Pakistan will now face India India in its next match.

Winning the toss, West Indies chose to bat first and found themselves in deep trouble at 47/7 at one stage. A maiden half-century by Nikita Miller helped West Indies reach a triple digit score and gave a target of 134 to Pakistan. Pakistan lost wicket at regular intervals, but Umar Akmal scored an unbeaten 41*(51) to help Pakistan win their first match of the Champions Trophy 2009 by 5 wickets.
