Victorian Bushrangers defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in the first match of the League stage in the Champions League Twenty20 2009. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and chose to bat first. They started off well scoring 39 from 28 balls before losing their first wicket of Robin Uthappa. The middle order wickets fell quickly and they found themselves in trouble at 99/4 after 16 overs. Bangalore managed to score 127/6 in their 20 overs. Chasing a target of 128 isn't much of a challenge in Twenty20 cricket. Victoria started off well scoring runs aggressively. Anil Kumble bowled the first over giving away 8 runs. They lost their first wicket of Brad Hodge with 48 runs on the board in the seventh over. Rob Quiney and Blizzard added runs quickly for the second wicket. They lost the second and third wickets for 2 runs. In the end, David Hussey and Cameron White saw Victoria home with 25 balls to spare.
