Wayamba beat Victoria Bushrangers in the final Group D match of the Champions League Twenty20 2009. However, Victoria Bushrangers advanced to the Super Eights despite losing the match with better net run rate. Wayamba Elevens won the toss and chose to bat first. Victorian Bushrangers started off really well and kept pressure on the Wayamba batsmen right from the first over. Udawatte was out for 1 in the second over. Michael Vandort and Jeevantha Kulatunga added 81 runs for the second wicket. But Bushrangers took 8 wickets for 33 runs and Wayamba managed to score 118 runs from their 20 overs. In reply, Victoria Bushrangers managed to score 103/4 in their 20 overs.
