India beats Australia by 99 runs in the second ODI

India beat Australia by 99 runs in the second One Day International at Nagpur to level the series 1-1. Australia won the toss and chose to field first.

MS Dhoni scored 124 runs in 107 balls as India scored their highest score of 354 against Australia in One Day Internationals. Sachin Tendulkar fell cheaply for the second time in two matches. He was caught by Cameron White for 4(8). Virender Sehwag scored a quick 40 in jut 31 balls and India are 67/1 after 10 overs. Yuvraj Singh departed for 23(24). Gautam Gambhir and captain MS Dhoni added 119 runs from 18.5 overs for the fourth wicket. Gambhir was run out for 76(80). Dhoni added 136 runs for the fifth wicket with Suresh Raina 62(50).

In reply, Australia lost the wicket of Tim Paine early in the innings. Ishant Sharma struck in his very first ball in the match as he got the wicket of Shane Watson. Ricky Ponting is sent back to the pavilion in the next over. Ponting is trapped LBW as Praveen Kumar claimed his second wicket in the match. India got wickets at regular intervals and they won the match by 125 runs.
